The PPAI Expo Opens For Business

The PPAI Expo pre-show activities got under way this past weekend marking the unofficial start of the promotional products industry’s largest, longest-running and best-attended show. Designated as one of the top-60 largest trade shows in the U.S. by Trade Show News Network, the PPAI Expo returned to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas again this year where it has been located since moving from Dallas in 2003, after a 26-year run in that city.

Often referred to as the industry’s ‘big tent’ where anyone and everyone who is serious about doing business in the promotional products industry is assembled, the show is the proclaimed first-of-the-year gathering place for meetings of PPAI leadership and volunteers, supplier and distributor company sales meetings, meet-and-greets between vendors and their customers and the perennial showcase for new product introductions and best-sellers across a vast array of categories.

The PPAI Expo Exceeds Expectations And More

After months of preparation by exhibitors, PPAI staff and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, the PPAI Expo 2019 officially got under way on Tuesday morning and wraps up its third full day of exhibits today.

For some attendees, it was their first time at the show. Among those was Thea Kelly, who recently purchased Alchemy Promotional Products in Dorset, Vermont, and who came to the Expo with a set game plan. “I hit all of the education workshops right away. I planned ahead what I wanted to attend so I already have the resources and tools for productivity that will set me up for the year.” She applied the same game plan to the show. “I planned to see the exhibitors I already do business with first and had clients and programs in mind. I’m going to hit this show every year; in terms of what PPAI provides, I’ve got my total ROI already.”

Exhibitors Weigh In On Expo’s First Day

The PPAI 2019 Expo show floor was buzzing with activity as more than 1,220 exhibiting companies showcased their latest in promotional products to attendees. With new trends and fan favorites available at every turn, PPB’s editorial team took to the show floor to interview exhibitors about their products and Expo experience.

“It’s been amazing,” says David Cain of TradeNet Publishing Co., the Gardener, Kansas-based supplier specializes in office accessories and home goods like business cards, banners, luggage tags, memo boards, spiral-bound notebooks and wall calendars. “We noticed that traffic picked up earlier this year. We’re in a different spot this year, so we had people coming a lot earlier than last year when we were on the outskirts, and it took everybody a bit of time. It has been steady all day, and we love that our new spot generated more foot traffic from the beginning.”
