Trending Now: Prop 65 and CPSIA Updates
It’s been a little over 12 months since the new CA Prop 65 regulations went into effect. What can we learn from the notices, settlements and trends? What do you need to do to ensure your internal procedures and practices continue are keeping up with recent litigation trends? This session reviews the top compliance issues for the promotional products industry, with a focus on the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). Promotional products professionals will be introduced to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), specific regulations concerning promotional products and other mandatory and voluntary standards. The content is appropriate for both suppliers and distributors. This session will qualify as an elective for the Product Safety Awareness initiative. Seats are first come, first served.

Director of Advocacy and Member Engagement
Anne is the director of advocacy and member engagement and is responsible for guiding PPAI’s legislative and government relations efforts—including taking a contingent of PPAImembers to Washington, DC, to advocate directly to US lawmakers on issues important to the promotional products industry. Anne also oversees the Association’s product responsibility programs including the development of industry best practices and the PPAI Product Safety Summit—a two-day education event focused specifically on product responsibility issues. She currently serves as staff liaison to both the Government Relations Advisory Council and the Product Responsibility Advisory Group.

Susan DeRagon is Senior Technical Consultant at QIMA (formerly AsiaInspection). With over 30 years of experience, she is a leading quality and safety expert on toys, children’s products, and promotional and licensed goods. She has conducted numerous technical seminars and webinars globally. She works closely with companies to provide the highest level of quality service in the areas of regulatory compliance, product testing, quality control and assurance, safety evaluations and inspections. Ms. DeRagon is an active member of The Toy Association and ASTM International, participating on several toy and children’s product standards committees. She is also a member of PPAI’s Product Responsibility Action Group (PRAG) and a previous member of the Board of Directors for ICPHSO, the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization.
