Education Session: Agency Alphabet Soup and PPE - What You Must Know If You Are Selling PPE
Step into the PPAI archives with this session from the 2020 PPAI Product Responsibility Summit. If you have sold or intend to sell any personal protective equipment (PPE) this session is for you. The session will review the claims you can and cannot make, when you must register your facility or products with government agencies and the risk you take by not complying with Federal regulations. Representatives from the Federal Trade Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration will give you direct guidance on all of these issues. Cheryl A. Falvey is co-chair of Crowell & Moring's Advertising & Product Risk Management Group, a member of the firm's Management Board, and the former general counsel of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. An experienced trial lawyer, she defends class actions, unfair competition, product liability and other mass tort claims arising out of consumer, occupational, and environmental exposures and other complex litigation with a science or technology focus. She represents clients on litigation and counseling matters regarding statutes and regulations enforced by the CPSC, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She handles product recalls conducted in cooperation with NHTSA, CPSC, and FDA, and defends clients in agency enforcement actions.
Lesley Fair FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection View speaker details
Lesley Fair is a senior attorney with the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. After litigating false advertising cases for more than 20 years, she now specializes in industry outreach. She is the primary author of the FTC Business Blog, business.ftc.gov/blog, which the ABA Journal named to its Best Law Blog List. On the faculty of the Catholic University School of Law since 1984, Lesley holds the title of Distinguished Lecturer. She also teaches Consumer Protection Law at the George Washington University Law School. Lesley is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Texas School of Law. She clerked for United States District Judge Fred Shannon and for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
